Too Far to Go

When I lived in Marietta,
6 miles from the Ohio,
I went to the river to write all the time.

But now that I’m in Louisville,
6 miles from the Ohio
the river seems too far.

Go figure.

You’re welcome, Diana. I’m in a workshop. Megan Willome is leading it. She asked us this week to write one of our assignments in a place we don’t usually write. It got me thinking of how I used to write all the time by the river. Six miles in Louisville seems a lot further than six miles in Marietta. I think it’s because it’s a city and there’s just so many more lights and decisions to make.
