Gilmore Girls beats Debates

loreleis-moron-quote

I watched Gilmore Girls instead of the 3rd debate because I’ve seen enough of one and not the other. The whole premise of GG is so clever – a single mother estranged from her parents goes to them for financial help in paying the child’s tuition and the agreement to loan the money has a string attached, an obligation for weekly dinner.

This is my 3rd or 4th time through GG. Once again, I near cried when Emily pays her first visit to her grown daughter’s home and sees a photo of her with her leg in a cast. She hadn’t known about the broken leg.

Very moving, the encounter with what’s been missed while everybody was standing their ground.
