WHY I Keep Reading Your Words

old typewriter

THREE BLOG POSTS added to my life today. Was one of them yours?
Breaking with blogging tradition, I won’t be saying what they were, who wrote them or where they can be found, but I will say this:

I read 3 posts today that steered me aright and made a difference to me.
Was one of them yours?

Might be,
if you wrote from the heart,
if you wrote from right where you are,
if you made the time to write and the time to cut out the excess,
if you thought it worthwhile,
if you wrote the thing you were prompted to write,
if you ignored the voice that said “Nobody cares about this” and shared it anyway.
if you were direct but loving,
remembering your unseen reader
may not be in a place at the moment
to be hit over the head,
if you spoke truth in love.
if you spoke with passion without ranting,
if you said it like you’d say it to my face
and didn’t stand on a pedestal and shout into cyberspace as if you didn’t need to answer for it.

I have been holding my words back this year. (You have noticed, I know.)
Yes, I’ve held back my words,
but I have been reading yours
and will keep on reading.

So please don’t forget to write.

To all my blogging friends far and wide, I appreciate you greatly!

Happy New Year Marilyn to you and to Wally. John is feeling great, which is the best news I could have. I hope that my blog is one of the ones you are reading. This year I pledge to work on my novel writing. Sending you a cheer for a great New Year, Beth

Marilyn, your words are such a call and guide to me personally. I love YOU and appreciate you as a mentor and friend. Thank you so much for words that will serve as a beacon. I too, have been not writing, as I was too busy for a season with another call to action, but now that is done and I will cherish your lovely words into the New Year.
