County Fair parade,
always the Saturday of Labor Day weekend.

A smattering of pics.

Crowds on Front St,
men in plumed hats,
4 high school bands,
lots of paraders tossing candy to children along the sides

(whose participation
was later discussed at length
at a Sunday evening party,
it having been a very hot day.
I stayed out of it,
occupied as I was
with a tomato-and-mozzarella salad)

a princess, of course –
sitting in a wicker chair
on a flatbed pulled by a pickup –

old cars and candidates

and a woman so in support of her candidate
she marched pulling an oxygen tank behind!
(the candidate’s mother perhaps?)

a liberty bell,
the Future Farmers of America,
the hillbilly truck

associated with some cause
I cannot recall what

and…last pic…my guy.

Nothing special here.
Everything special here.

Apologies the photos of the dancers and baton twirlers turned out to poor to use.
