Noticing What’s Been There All Along

I WAS DOWN THERE again today
by the lock keeper’s house,
and recalled that day last fall
when,
after circling round past it
hundreds of times
the last 15 years,
I began to notice it,
to see it as if for the first time.

So many times
I had driven past
and walked past
and biked past

and then
it was suddenlike,
my seeing it.

Has it happened to you?
Something is there all along
and then suddenly you notice it?

Ah Ha moments! Yes so familiar. Added bonus, this house would make great subject matter for watercolours.
