On Mondays, I share recent entries in my Gratitude Journal.
#1969. A visit from fellow-blogger Laura Boggess.
I first saw her name a year ago when she was discussion leader for The High Calling book club study of Julia Cameron’s “The Right to Write.” When we later discovered we don’t live far from each other, we began trying to make a date to meet. And on Friday we finally did!
Laura did all the driving, coming here to see me – 2+ hours each way! – and I repaid her by doing more talking during our brief visit than I’ve done in the last six months – no exaggeration.
We visited the old lock keeper’s house and too soon it was time for her to leave, but her visit stirred my thoughts wonderfully and inspired me to take action on something I’ve been thinking about a long time. (More to come on that, I’m sure.) For now, I am so grateful for her visit. All I can say is….
There
is nothing
for a writer
that is quite like
a visit
with another writer.
Pay Laura a visit @ The Wellspring

Jealous, I am. But so glad for you. How lovely.
Laura is one of those writers I can relate to at a heart level.
I. Love. YOU! The drive was well worth the ending point. And you didn’t even mention the delicious lunch you made for me. I have pictures. Working on getting those up over at my place right now. But…I wanted to come over here and say Happy Monday first! Love to you, Marilyn. Already thinking of all the topics we didn’t get to discuss! Planning our second date in my head
…
Laura has meant so much to me thru her comments on my blog. I’m sure your time with her was wonderful!
I’m a little jealous.
Laura is SO sweet.
I’m sure you had a wonderful time.
Nice to “meet” you.
Just as she said, you are beautiful.
Blessings from another Lora.
I’ll join with the others who LOVE Laura. Her heart, her words, her faith. All so significant.
Lucky you. And…might I add?…lucky Laura, too!
marilyn, it is so good to meet you… i just read laura’s post, and then came here… i feel like i know you already
and i agree with you. i once lived near ann voskamp, before moving out here to alberta last summer, and the few visits i had with her–they changed my life. only a writer understands another writer. bless you. e.
Someday I would love to meet her too, we have emailed off and on for sometime, but to visit in person would be a true joy.
